Public Skate
Adults and children alike are invited to enjoy ice skating at the Nicholas Sportsplex during the Ice Arena’s public skate hours.
Rental skates and beginner skate aids are available upon request.
Learn to Skate Classes
Nicholas Sportsplex offers a comprehensive lesson and evaluation structure for recreational skaters, figure skaters, and hockey players of all skill levels.
Specialty classes, private lessons, camps, open skates, competitions and ice shows are available in addition to fundamental Learn to Skate classes.
Freestyle Ice
Freestyle Ice is for competitive skaters (adult and youth) to use for practice time and for private lessons. Freestyle Ice sessions are priced in 30 minute increments.
Participation is limited to 30 skaters.
Adult Hockey League
The Mount Prospect Adult Hockey League (MPAHL) offers various levels of play including an over 40 Division, House, B and C Division. The league participates in 22 regular season games and at least one guaranteed playoff game.
Stick N’ Puck
Stick N’ Puck provides a perfect opportunity for hockey players of all ages to focus on skill development during unstructured ice time.
Participation is limited to 30 skaters and 4 goalies per session and is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Ice Time
Mount Prospect Ice Arena’s three NHL regulation ice rinks (200×85 feet) are regularly rented by individuals and hockey/figure skating clubs for hosting practices, games, tournaments, clinics, camps, parties, and more. All three ice sheets are available for hourly rentals from 6 a.m. - midnight.
Outdoor Events
The two specialized synthetic turf outdoor areas that make up Nicholas Field are rented to host a variety of activities and events. Although they are striped for baseball/softball (50x50 yards) and football/soccer (80x50 yards), these spaces have also been used for sports training, musical performances, dance fitness classes, and even egg hunts.
Party Packages
